exciting time to work at Amarillo College! We are seeking a Part
Time Administrative Clerk I who will act as a receptionist, perform
varied clerical duties for programs/departments involving
considerable clerical responsibility, and perform advanced data
entry. An Administrative Clerk I facilitates smooth office
procedures and determines the disposition of routine clerical
problems.GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTSEDUCATION
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Some College Courses.EXPERIENCE
- Required: Two (2) years of experience in a Secretarial/Clerical
Environment.
- Preferred: Three (3) years of experience in a
Secretarial/Clerical Environment.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answers phones. Screens, or forwards calls, providing
information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments;
- Schedules appointments. Maintains and updates appointment
calendars;
- Files, tracks, and maintains various reports, documents and
records;
- Accepts and receives payment and records receipts for
services;
- Receives and sorts, records, posts and files cash payments, and
sign receipts;
- Performs administrative support tasks, such as proofreading,
transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or
computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or
other documents;
- Transmits information or documents to customers, using
computer, mail, or fax machine;
- Analyzes data to determine answers to questions from customers
or members of the community;
- Provides information about establishment, such as location of
departments or offices, employees within the organization, or
services provided;
- Processes and prepares memos, correspondence, travel vouchers,
or other documents;
- Orders, receives and delivers merchandise or materials for
department;
- Enrolls individuals to participate in programs and notifies
them of their acceptance;
- Participates in and completes performance
assessments/evaluations as assigned;

Outlook.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and
buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull
and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.Schedule: This position
will be primarily working evenings.Work Environment: This position
operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses
standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax
machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with
continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft
Office, Ellucian Colleague, and various other educational
applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and
with little to no supervision.Travel Expectations: Limited travel
may be required.Salary: Amarillo College Staff Salary Schedule
