We are seeking a Part Time Administrative Clerk I who will act as a receptionist, perform varied clerical duties for programs/departments involving considerable clerical responsibility, and perform advanced data entry. An Administrative Clerk I facilitates smooth office procedures and determines the disposition of routine clerical problems.GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTSEDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Some College Courses.EXPERIENCE
    • Required: Two (2) years of experience in a Secretarial/Clerical Environment.
    • Preferred: Three (3) years of experience in a Secretarial/Clerical Environment.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Answers phones. Screens, or forwards calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments;
      • Schedules appointments. Maintains and updates appointment calendars;
      • Files, tracks, and maintains various reports, documents and records;
      • Accepts and receives payment and records receipts for services;
      • Receives and sorts, records, posts and files cash payments, and sign receipts;
      • Performs administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents;
      • Transmits information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or fax machine;
      • Analyzes data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the community;
      • Provides information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided;
      • Processes and prepares memos, correspondence, travel vouchers, or other documents;
      • Orders, receives and delivers merchandise or materials for department;
      • Enrolls individuals to participate in programs and notifies them of their acceptance;
      • Participates in and completes performance assessments/evaluations as assigned;

        • Strong typing skills.
        • Proficient Communication Skills (Interpersonal, Verbal, and Written) to convey information effectively.
        • Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.Schedule: This position will be primarily working evenings.Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Ellucian Colleague, and various other educational applications.
