hours Contract Duration: 42 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the
Position Shift: School days and School hours (M/T/W/Th/F and
approximately 8 am-3:30 pm) Job Description: We are looking for a
dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to join our
school-based team. The PT will work with children and students to
support their gross motor development and help them access the
educational environment safely and effectively. This role focuses
on improving mobility, posture, balance, coordination, strength,
and endurance to enhance students' participation in school
activities. Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations and assessments
to determine students’ physical therapy needs related to mobility,
posture, and movement. Develop and implement Individualized
Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the educational team.
Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to address physical
challenges impacting students' school performance. Provide
recommendations for assistive devices, adaptive equipment, or
school-based modifications. Promote safe access to classroom and
school facilities, including navigation of stairs, hallways,
playgrounds, and buses. Monitor and document student progress and
revise therapy interventions as needed. Collaborate with teachers,
parents, and other school staff to support student participation.
Educate school personnel and families about mobility strategies and
proper use of assistive devices. Participate in multidisciplinary
team meetings and IEP conferences. Qualifications: Doctorate or
Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist
(DPT, MPT, or equivalent). Experience working with children or in
school settings (preferred). Strong understanding of pediatric
physical development and school-based practices. Excellent
communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Knowledge of
relevant federal and state special education regulations.
