Such responsibilities encompass the internal processes of the Department and integration of the units into the overall functioning of Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The Director supports an organizational culture for safety and Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups. Exhibits effective leadership skills through planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the UHS and the NWTHS vision, mission, strategic goals and values and in accordance with The Joint Commission's leadership standards Provides departmental leadership through annual and ongoing goal development and evaluation related to the strategic plan and mission. Promotes and maintains standards of nursing care and assesses professional nursing practice as related to specific clinical department oversight. Approaches problem-solving methods proactively. Job Requirements EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas. BSN required, Master's in related field required. Appropriate clinical experience. Three to five years leadership experience leading multiple departments (100+ FTES) with demonstrated successful outcomes relative to quality of care, financial performance, and employee engagement/turnover. Physical and Sensory Requirements: Ability to read and write in English. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others. Ability to remain calm under stress Ability to respond to pages. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions. Bending, lifting (25 lbs. minimum), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling. Ability to understand and interpret financial data Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions. Able to identify appropriate data and interprets its significance to clinical and operational activities.
