The Implant Coordinator Nurse demonstrates clinical competence by
appropriately evaluating the different types of implants used
throughout the medical center to determine the appropriate use,
storage, and management of implants. The Implant Coordinator Nurse
applies the application of knowledge/skills in caring for patients.
The incumbent assumes responsibility/accountability for evaluation
of all delegated tasks and is self- directed in the identification
of learning needs and development of individual performance plans.
The incumbent initiates and utilizes positive, effective
communication skills and professional behaviors that promote
cooperation, teamwork, and effective interaction with internal and
external customers.

Basic Requirements:
Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II,
Appendix G-6 Nurse Qualification Standard. This can be found in the
local Human Resources Office.
Physical Requirements: Moderate lifting, 15-44 pounds; Moderate
carrying, 15-44 pounds; Straight pulling (1 hour); Pulling hand
over hand (1 hour); Pushing (1 hour); Use of fingers; Both hands
required; Walking (1 hour); Standing (1 hours); Repeated bending (1
hours); Near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4; Far
vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other;
Both eyes required; Depth perception; Ability to distinguish basic
colors; Ability to distinguish shades of colors.EducationThe
Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in
Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be
fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in
Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education
