Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and the interdisciplinary healthcare team members. The Cath Lab staff RN will assist as scrub, circulator/sedation RN and monitors for interventional cardiology procedures. Job Duties: Record patients' medical information and vital signs. Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity. Instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. Conduct specified laboratory tests. Observe nurses and visit patients to ensure proper nursing care. Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition Qualifications Licenses and Certifications: -Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Associates Degree of Radiology preferred -Current Texas RN or LVN license CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required ACLS certified Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Minimum of 1-year acute care experience required Interventional Cardiology/Cath Lab, Critical Care, or Emergency Services nursing preferred Assess, plan, evaluates, documents total nursing process Critical thinking skills Ability to work as a team extremely important Organized, able to prioritize and multi-task Self-motivated, adaptable and being flexible are a must Computer skills necessary; EMR Epic documentation; Mac-Lab Hemodynamic Recording System Clear and effective communication with physicians, patients, families, multiple departments and other healthcare professionals Compassionate customer service skills Committed to patient and family satisfaction
