POSITION SUMMARY : Tech-Echo Sonographer (FT Days) POSITION SUMMARY: The Echo Sonographer is responsible for the day-to-day operations (patient flow) and efficiency of the Echo department. The technologist must have knowledge of all areas within the Echo Department and must utilize the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members. The Echo Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations according to the currently accepted practices of the ARDMS and Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The technologist will prepare technical reports, exam rooms, equipment and supplies for procedures. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Assists the Cardiologist and Staff Physicians with tests Demonstrates Echo Sonography skills needed for all positions Demonstrates good patient care Utilizes the appropriate leadership skill in supervising students and providing feedback concerning student performance Demonstrates good communication and problem-solving skills Is a professional role model for personnel Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and employees Assess risks to patient safety and implements the appropriate precaution Complies with appropriate and approved standards relating to patients, infection control, and environmental issues Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS.
