- Lake View Cardiology (FT)--SUMMARY: This position is responsible
for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include
assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the
direction of a physician.----Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Interviews patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate,
temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and
procedure as directed by the physician
- Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in
accordance with IPM guideline
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Assists in covering the front desk as required
- Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions,
administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents
treatment progress and patient response
- Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act
- Refers to/consults with physicians, other health providers, and
community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns
- Educates patients and families about health status, health
maintenance, and management of acute and chronic
conditions--Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary

Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training &
Travel Requirements (if applicable):
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. BSN
preferred.
- BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during
orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment
- Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in
the State of Texas
- Minimum of one to three (1-3) years working as a Registered
Nurse. Three to five (3-5) years of related experience,
preferred
- Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems,
such as Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal
skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
- EKG machine proficient--PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff,
physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
- Ability to respond to pages
- Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make
independent decisions
- Ability to repeatedly twist, squat and stoop
- Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand
coordination, pushing, and pulling
- Exposure to infectious organisms, agents, and toxic
chemicals
