Responsibilities

Surgical First Assistants assist physicians in surgery and may perform specific surgical task under "professional supervision". (Significant surgical tasks include, but are not limited to: opening and closing surgical sites, exposure of the surgical site, harvesting grafts, dissecting tissue, removing tissue, implanting devices, altering tissues). Perform CST role when not utilized in the First Assistant Role.
Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or eligible to take the CSFA exam
• Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or eligible for Certification
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification Preferred Job Requirements:
  • CST experience (prefer two years)
  • CST-FA experience (prefer minimum 2 years Cardio-Vascular)
