Responsibilities
For more than 50 years, Northwest Behavioral Health has provided
mental health treatment to individuals from Texas, Oklahoma, New
Mexico, and Colorado. Located on the campus of Northwest Texas
Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, we offer behavioral health
treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, seniors and
uniformed service members. Our facility has 6 inpatient units with
106 beds. Additional services we offer include 24 hours a day free
behavioral health assessments, partial hospitalization and
intensive outpatient mental health and substance use programs,
clinic-based psychiatry and therapy services. In 2021 additional
services added include ECT, virtual reality exposure therapy, bio
neurofeedback and CBT-I for insomnia. Our goal is to provide

Licensed Therapist (PRN) -POSITION SUMMARY: A Behavioral Health
Licensed Therapist with strong leadership abilities, communication,
and problem-solving skills who, with minimum supervision, performs
a broad range of counseling and case management functions. These
include acting as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Provides referrals and coordination of services with outside
agencies. Performs comprehensive assessments, clinical evaluations,
and interviews and provides appropriate interventions to meet
identified needs. Collaborates with other members of the treatment
team, including Utilization Review and the Court Liaison to ensure
requirements for admission and reimbursement are met. Facilitates
individual, family, and group therapy as indicated. Supports an
organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the
Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards

Qualifications
Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations
Required:
- Any of the following Licensed Therapist Credentials: LPC,
LPC-Associate, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT currently licensed in the state of
Texas with a Masters Degree (in Mental or Behavioral Health filed)
or agrees to obtain -license within 6 months
- Excels in interpersonal and communication skills
- BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during
orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment
-Physical and Sensory Requirements:
- Ability to read, write and converse in English
- Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff,
physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
- Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress
- Ability to respond to pages
- Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make
independent decisions
- Ability to repeatedly twist, squat and stoop
- Bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), grasping, fine hand
coordination, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to understand and interpret financial
