Responsibilities
- Assist the Radiologist/Surgeon during various specialized and
complex invasive angio and interventional procedures performed in
the Interventional Radiology Suite
- Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for total
patient care during and after the procedure
- Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of
interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a
physician / PA
- Explain procedures to patients and addresses concerns. Prep the
patient for procedure
- Circulate during the procedure and assists in responsibility
for patient comfort. Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and
therapeutic invasive procedures
- Remove catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure
- Provide necessary report information to physicians, nurse, and
other staff members
- Order procedures and charges supplies
- Perform image acquisition and post processing, provide
necessary information concerning procedures and exposure times,
place information on PACS in a timely manner
- Maintain and calibrates equipment. Report equipment
malfunctions appropriately
- Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing
computerized documentation systems
- Assist with transporting patients
- Orient and mentor new staff members
- Follow radiation safety techniques in accordance with
recommended radiation safety practices
Qualifications
- Current Texas Medical Board - MRT license
- Current ARRT (R) License
- Current Basic Life Support Certification / CPR -issued by
American Heart Association
