Responsibilities
For more than 50 years, Northwest Behavioral Health has provided
mental health treatment to individuals from Texas, Oklahoma, New
Mexico, and Colorado. Located on the campus of Northwest Texas
Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, we offer behavioral health
treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, seniors and
uniformed service members. - Our facility has 6 inpatient units
with 106 beds. Additional services we offer include 24 hours a day
free behavioral health assessments, partial hospitalization and
intensive outpatient mental health and substance use programs,
clinic-based psychiatry and therapy services. New service offerings
coming in 2021 include ECT, virtual reality exposure therapy, bio
neurofeedback and CBT-I for insomnia. Our goal is to provide

providers! -Visit us online at: -POSITION SUMMARY: - The Risk and
Quality Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing, effective
operation of Risk Management activities across all behavioral
health units and off-site BH clinics. Such responsibilities include
incorporation of the Corporate Risk Management TERM program into
the overall functioning of BH and Clinics. With minimal
supervision, coordinates the Core Measure compliance program in the
BH Hospital. Additional responsibilities will include provision of
consultative services for other Performance Improvement activities
and assisting with compliance activities for all regulatory
agencies. The Risk and Quality Coordinator supports an
organizational culture of Safety and Service Excellence and
practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer
groups.PROVISION OF SERVICESDemonstrates leadership and
participation in the provision of departmental reports and patient
safety initiatives. This includes reporting to various risk
reduction and quality improvement teams and the Medical Staff
Office. -Responds to department needs with the ability to
prioritize and direct departmental processes and activities.
Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills in preparing
claim files on potential and actual claims. Demonstrates
appropriate leadership skills in planning, organizing, and
coordinating risk and quality improvement activities in relation to
the UHS and NWTHS mission, vision, strategic goals, and values, and
in accordance with The Joint Commission leadership standards. -
Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in nursing, or other Healthcare related
field. Minimum of 2 years of college required. Relevant work
experience may be substituted for each year of required
education.Minimum 3 years clinical experience.Experience in
Healthcare Risk Management or Quality preferredInterview skills and
experience in incident investigation.Demonstrates high level of
organizational skills.Strong communication skills, both oral and
written.Knowledge of computer hardware and software
applications.Ability to perform statistical analysis on data
