pharmacist in our Emergency Department (ED) Level III Trauma

Responsibilities The clinical pharmacist provides direct
pharmaceutical care to patients in the emergency department,
ensuring appropriate medication use. Collaborates with physicians,
nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement
treatment plans. Assist with the rapid assessment and management of
critically ill patients, including resuscitation and trauma cases.
Conducts medication reconciliation, review drug therapy, and make
evidence-based recommendations. Prepare and dispense medications in
accordance with hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Participates in emergency response situations such as stroke
alerts, cardiac arrests, and sepsis protocols. Educate and counsel
patients and healthcare professionals on medication use, potential
side effects, and best practices. Monitor for adverse drug
reactions and medication errors, implementing corrective measures
when necessary. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and
research projects related to emergency medicine pharmacy. Serve as
a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents and supervise
medication history pharmacy technicians. Qualifications Job
Requirements: B.S. or Pharm D. from an ACPE-accredited School of
Pharmacy. Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the
appropriate State Board of Pharmacy. Other applicable state
requirements – i.e. sterile compounding, etc. BLS, ALS, and PALS
certification required within 90 days of hire. Preferred Job
Requirements: Completion of a PGY2 residency in emergency medicine
or critical care, PGY1 Pharmacy Residency with critical care and
emergency medicine experience, or equivalent experience in the
emergency department or critical care practice setting. We are an
