Amarillo is a top destination for Texas nursing jobs, known for its welcoming community, affordable cost of living, and stunning sunsets—making it ideal for travel healthcare professionals seeking professional growth and a vibrant lifestyle.\n \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details\n \n Location: Amarillo, TX 79106 (Texas healthcare jobs)\n Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract\n Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care (6C)\n Start Date: November 10, 2025\n End Date: February 9, 2026\n Contract Length: 13 weeks\n Shift: Night Shift, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)\n Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts available)\n Estimated Weekly Pay: $1620 - $1660\n Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:6\n Unit Size: 24 beds\n Orientation: 24 hours onsite\n \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown, intermediate care, or med/surg settings\n Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas RN jobs)\n Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association preferred)\n Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 6 months) required\n Clinical skills: telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team participation, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac drip management (no titration), oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway management\n Must reside at least 50 miles from Amarillo, TX (no local candidates)\n Willingness to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed\n Availability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if required\n Previous charge nurse experience preferred\n \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n \n Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a cardiac stepdown/intermediate care environment\n Monitor and manage cardiac and med/surg patients, including telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation\n Administer medications, blood products, and manage cardiac drips (no titration)\n Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as physical therapy, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy\n Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR\n Adhere to infection control protocols and isolation precautions\n Participate in rapid response and code blue situations as needed\n Float to similar or lower acuity units to support patient care as required\n \n Apply now to join our healthcare team in Amarillo, Texas and discover rewarding travel nursing opportunities in the heart of the Lone Star State!
