Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Recent EPIC experience - Experience with Medical Surgical, Orthopedic, and Neuro patient populations - Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical and Neuro. It involves providing care for patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions. The unit has a total of 35 beds and is supported by interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:6 during shifts. Telemetry monitoring is centralized for enhanced patient observation. Staffing includes Patient Care Technicians and Patient Transporters. There is a floating charge nurse available to assist with patient care management. Discounted meals and local hotel accommodations are available for staff. Candidates must have current BLS and NIHSS certifications. Experience in managing mood disorders, post-neurosurgery care, and traumatic brain injuries is preferred. This role requires an understanding of isolation precautions, wound care management, and non-invasive airway management. Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the position. No more than three requests for time off will be automatically approved. There is a requirement to have been absent from permanent staff roles for one year before applying as a traveler. Experience with EPIC EMR within the last six months is mandatory.
