Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 13, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with Neuro and Orthopedic experience for a night shift travel contract requiring Epic proficiency and a TX or compact RN license. Details - Work in a 35-bed combined Orthopedic and Neuro Medical-Surgical unit - Patient population includes Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic, and Neurological cases - Patient ratio is 1:6 - Telemetry is monitored centrally rather than at the bedside - Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, and a house discharge nurse that floats across all departments - Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 - Floating is required to units of equal or lesser acuity - Block scheduling is considered on a case-by-case basis - Epic is the EMR; experience within the last 6 months is required - Free covered parking and discounted meals are available on-site Requirements - Active TX RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand - Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required - Minimum 1 year of RN experience required - Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic, or Neuro nursing experience required - Epic EMR experience within the last 6 months required - Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Additional Information - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position - Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler - No more than 3 days of RTO will be approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation - Scrubs of any color are acceptable, but logos are not permitted - Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-684110.
