Position Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical
Therapist Specialty: - Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 8 Hour Days Hours
per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of two years current experience
required in specialty. License: Must have a New Mexico PT License.
Certifications: BLS certification completed through American Heart
Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
Must-Have: - Inpatient and Outpatient experience required. -
Minimum one year of pediatric PT experience if working in
pediatrics. - Team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast-paced
environment. - At least one 13-week previous travel assignment.
Description: Floating between departments and local locations
within 20 miles is required. Evaluates patients regarding the
application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for
rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders. Requires
detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how
work is to be done as well as why it is done; this level includes
interpretation of data. Basic computer skills required. Basic
understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting.
Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide
variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical
function and developmental disorders. Must demonstrate knowledge of
the principles of growth and development over the life span of
patients served. Oversees and ensures a comprehensive
rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial,
and immediate environmental well-being of the patient. Promotes
patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource
utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.
Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services
involved in patient care. Coordinates efforts toward discharge
goals established at initial evaluation and during the episode of
care. Acts as a patient advocate. Perform other duties as assigned.
Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care,
community-based care, and home health care. For pediatric physical
therapists, responsibilities include evaluating and treating
infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions
while addressing motor development, strength, range of motion,
endurance, balance, coordination, and gait. Interviewing children
and family members and using physical examination to diagnose
movement disorders is essential. Ability to evaluate and treat
patients from 18 years old and older. Floating to adult units may
be necessary if pediatric patient census fluctuates. Evaluates and
treats pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old regarding the
application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for
rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
Settings may include inpatient and inpatient emergency departments.
