The Referral Specialist is responsible for the successful and efficient scheduling of surgeries, diagnostic tests, referrals, and other tasks as requested?for patients of the?Northwest Texas Physician Group - Multi-Specialty Clinic. The Referral Specialist will be scheduling and pre-authorizing of surgeries, diagnostic?tests, and procedures for the surgeons of?Northwest Texas Physician Group.?Also, the Referral Specialist will schedule of other tests with facilities at the request of NWTXPG providers and/or staff.?The Referral Specialist will directly communicate with NWTH facilities, clinics, referrals to clinics, and patients.?The Referral?Specialist will?communicate with patients regarding scheduled procedure dates and other pertinent information.?The Referral Specialist will review clinical data to report medical necessity to insurance companies. The Referral Specialist will perform all work with accordance to the mission, vision and values of NWTXPG and?report to the?Practice Administrator/Manager. Northwest Texas Physician Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty and urgent care locations in Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Texas Physician Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495 bed system acute care hospital, that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. The system provides acute care services including: cardiac, pediatric, women?s, emergency, surgical and behavioral healthcare. Amarillo has a population of nearly 200,000 people.
