Job Description:

FULL TIME POSITION - Monday - Friday Willing to work on call and weekends.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

In collaboration with the Director of Food Service and the Building Manager/Administrator, manages and evaluates services provided by the food service staff in a designated area, within the framework of BCS policies. Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory and legal requirements in providing optimal services for elders, staff, and customers.

ESSENTIALS OF JOB:

Manages and maintains all services provided by the kitchen staff. (constantly) Responsible for staff development and staff performance, including hiring, review and evaluation, and scheduling. (frequently) Maintains departmental, local, state and federal sanitation standards. (constantly) Maintains maintenance logs and calls in work orders. (frequently) Ensures that serving times are met and that meals are properly documented on proper paperwork. (frequently) Responsible for ordering and stocking of supplies. (frequently) Assures that food is eye appealing and quality food is served to residents. (constantly) Assures that standardized recipes are properly followed. (constantly) Responsible for planning, developing and implementing a budget profess for staffing and services rendered. (occasionally) Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)

Contributes to the ongoing process of establishing and meeting departmental and BCS goals and objectives. Participates in utilizing customer feedback to measure and improve effectiveness of service level.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years' experience preferred. Must be able to read, speak and write English. Must be able to make simple math calculations. Must have Serv-Safe certification within 30 days of hire date.

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL DEMANDS:

Visual acuity to prepare and read menus and instructions.
Must lift or move up to 75 lbs. or more with assistance, occasionally; 50 lbs., frequently; 25 lbs., constantly.
Must be able to position self to reach floor level to six feet from the floor.
Will be able to move throughout the facility.
Hearing acuity to respond to timers, etc.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must be able to withstand exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold.
