part of our family!GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Under the direction of the
Charge Nurse and/or Assisted Living Manager, administers medication
to adesignated group of residents, within the framework of BCS
policies. Ensures compliance with all Stateand Federal regulatory
requirements in providing optimal care for each client.ESSENTIALS
OF JOB:1. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed to a
designated group of residents, asdescribed in the State and Federal
regulations. (constantly) 2. Observes and reports symptoms and
conditions of residents both orally and in writing, and assistswith
instituting remedial measures. (constantly) 3. Maintains accurate
records reflecting resident's condition, medications and treatment.
(constantly) 4. Teaches resident and family member as needed
regarding care issues. (occasionally) 5. Develops collaborative
relationship with interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive
care.(occasionally) 6. Functions as an advocate for the residents.
(frequently) 7. Assists the Charge Nurse as assigned, i.e., as CNA
or Bath Aide. (constantly) 8. Must be able to commit the time
necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint
toaccomplish the above specified Essentials of Job.
(constantly)Contributes to the ongoing process of establishing and
meeting departmental and BCS goals andobjectives. Participates in
utilizing customer feedback to measure and improve effectiveness of
servicelevel. The above statements are intended to describe the

improvement processes.Promote Customer Service.MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION: That required for certification in the
State of Texas as a Certified MedicationAide. Must maintain/renew
CMA credentials by completing CEU hours and/or otherrequirements as
required by certifying agency. Must be able to read, speak, and
write English.PHYSICAL/SPECIAL DEMANDS:1. Prepare and assess
reports. 2. Walk and/or stand for a minimum of 12 hours. Must be
able to remain in a stationaryposition for durations of up to 2
hours at a time.3. Must lift or move up to 100 lbs. or more with
assistance, occasionally; 50 lbs., frequently;25 lbs.,
constantly.4. Must be able to position self to reach floor level to
six feet from the floor.5. Must be able to move throughout the
facility.6. Must be able to push/pull up to 200 lbs. 7. Must be
able to manipulate various size residents to and from sitting
positions, residentparticipation in ambulation and transfers.8.
Aural acuity to respond to residents, staff, and customers. 9.
Legible handwriting for documentation. 10. Computer skills (for
electronic health records).
