POSITION SUMMARY:
- Guide the activities of Controls Technical Specialists,
Technicians and other support staff in the planning, scheduling,
design, and execution capital and non-capital projects.
- Provide control system support for day-to-day manufacturing
operations, troubleshoot electrical and controls-related issues;
engage in control system software changes and upgrades; participate
in capital project implementations; support plant and divisional
initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Meets all Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental
requirements when performing job duties.
- Promote safe behaviors in daily activities. Follow and ensure
the team follows all safety and quality standards and
policies.
- Participates in NCE initiatives through operational Reviews
(SHO, DOR, Functional Reviews, etc.) and NCE Methodology.
- Work overtime and weekends as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work safely at all times. Follow all safety policies and
procedures. Attend safety, team and plant-wide meetings; attend
safety and functional training, perform SafeStart observations.

- Coach, train, mentor and provide leadership to Controls
Technical Specialists & Technicians for troubleshooting procedures
and resolution to technical problems Includes making sure work is
completed properly, ensure group operates efficiently, evaluate
priorities, project deadlines, and manpower to determine job
assignments. Identify and develop controls systems solutions that
comply with all standards and requirements at all levels of project

OTHER:
- Provide training programs on an "as needed" basis for
maintenance personnel to upgrade their skills in troubleshooting,
maintaining and improving installed process control systems.
- Maintain computers (hardware and software) used for process
control system interface.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associates of Applied Science in a technical
discipline, preferably electrical and 5+ years of experience with
electrical troubleshooting, PLC logic troubleshooting and
programming, technical data interpretation, hardware application
specification.
- Experience: (Years/Type) PLC's, Operator Interface Terminals,
motor control, variable frequency drives, industrial
instrumentation, Computers, iFIX Dynamics, and other programming
languages ( BASIC, C, ASSEMBLER, Visual Basic). Some leadership
experience desirable.
- Skills: Electrical Power and Controls System Troubleshooting,
Systems Integration, Hardware and Instrument Specification,
Schematics, and P&ID layout, Safety and Q.A., Data logging,
RSLogix, Modicon, GE Proficy iFix, Risk Assessments and S.I.S.
Experience in industrial manufacturing facilities preferred.
- Other: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Identify staffing needs, recruit and hire talent
Administer budget and allocate spending
Conduct performance evaluation reviews for direct reports
Administer compensation for direct reports
Recommend employment actions (i.e., promotions, terminations)
Coach and train direct reports
Administer flow and distribution of supplies and materials
Act on associate problems and complaints
Plan, prioritize and set work and work schedules for direct
reports

- Interact with vendors, contractors, production, maintenance,
engineering and managers.
- Supervision: Report to Manager of Engineering.
- Supervise Controls Technical Specialists I and II.
- Supervise contractors installing systems and maintenance
personnel in trouble shooting and installing equipment.
