Job Title: Quality Specialist Organization/: Facilities & Project Quality Support Department: Pantex F&P Quality Support Career Level: Specialist Posting Start Date: 01/09/2019 Reference Code 18-0478 Specific Job Responsibilities Provide oversight of construction projects and maintenance, to ensure implementation of the defined quality assurance requirements and program infrastructure for nuclear facilities, and applicable non-nuclear facilities. Develop and maintain consistency in the application of CNS quality requirements and ensure requirements and performance efforts are in accordance with NQA-1 criterion. Individual may be directly involved in providing input on procedures, or procurement, project, and maintenance processes. Will also provide assistance with the resolution of non-conformances, and with quality control functions in support of facility maintenance. Oversight includes working directly with facility engineering, plant operating organizations, and contractors to assist in defining and understanding applicable quality requirements and to ensure consistent and complete organizational flow down of the requirements into implementing procedures and programs. Oversight also includes leading, or performing assessments and surveillances on facility operations across the Pantex Site, and necessitates the responsibility for having a strong field presence in assigned areas. Specific Job Knowledge & Training Required Five to ten years of progressive technical experience in nuclear construction projects, or nuclear facility operations is preferred. Demonstrated skill in worker interface with multiple organizations and is capable of working independently, without direct supervision. Candidate must have effective critical thinking skills with the confidence to make sound decisions to resolve and mitigate Quality issues. A working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word, and PeopleSoft is preferred. Familiarity and experience with nuclear facilities quality assurance regulations and standards, including DOE Order 414.1D, 10 CFR 830, NQA-1-2008, and NAP-24, or their equivalent preferred. Education & Relevant Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, or other technical area; or a minimum of 10 years equivalent combination of education and technical experience. NOTE: This position requires a Q clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. Position will require entry into the Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
