Job Description:
Parallel Ag has an immediate opportunity available for an
Application Sales Professional in West Texas. Reporting to our
Dalhart, TX location, this position will directly support the focus
that Parallel Ag has for growing its market presence in application
and expanding the sales team. The position will be working the West
Texas sales territory.To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. Responsibilities and duties of the Applications
Sales Professional will include the following.Essential
Functions:
- Develop a deep understanding of the Parallel Ag product
portfolio for application farm equipment
- Gain agronomic knowledge to reference during the sales
process
- Actively participate in sales training meetings to develop
professionally and enrich sales team training discussions
- Build an extensive grower and ag-retailer sales prospect
list
- Offer high-level service to existing customers
- Craft sales messages targeted to customers
- Call on customers to understand their needs, and effectively
present opportunities for Parallel Ag products to address those
needs
- Dependably close sales of Parallel Ag products
- Manage logistics of fulfilling sales orders
- Other assignments as assignedQualifications:
- At least 2 years working in a customer-facing role in the Ag
Industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid record in building positive customer relationships
- Adept at identifying sales opportunities and strategies to
pursue them
- Driven to work independently
- Evidence of personal and professional growth being a
priority
- Motivated and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new people and
environments
- Microsoft Office software (Word, Power Point, Excel)
proficiency
- Clean driving record and valid drivers license.Preferred:
- An Associates or Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Science or
Agricultural Business
- Agriculture industry experience, particularly Applications
equipment, parts, service or operations; Experience with closing
sales a plus
- Understanding of the agricultural chemical retail distribution
business
- Knowledge of key pest management, agronomic, and cultural
practices for crops
- Strong organization skills to maximize communications with
vendors, distributors and growers
- Discipline to maintain records and sales activity
reporting
- Desire to work as an integral, dependable member of a closely
knit team
- The ability to travel overnight up to 60% as needed during
meeting and product use season
- Ability and willingness to reside within the assigned
