Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Amarillo, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,442 per week Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Amarillo, Texas, 79106! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience required Travel experience required Charge experience preferred Description: Registered Nurse will work in Intermediate Care and Medical/Surgical units. They will be expected to take general Medical/Surgical patients when needed. This unit consists of a mixture of Medical/Surgical and Intermediate Care patients. The nurse-to-patient ratios will range from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on the patient assignment each shift. The position requires experience with telemetry and the management of dysrhythmias. Nurses will be responsible for the use of Rapid Response teams and Blood Product Administration. Central line care and management, as well as peripheral line care and management, are also required. Management of cardiac drips without titration is necessary. Administration of oxygen and non-invasive airway management is expected. Isolation precautions and the use of personal protective equipment are important in this role. The unit has interdisciplinary support including physical therapy and respiratory services. Patient age groups will primarily consist of adults. Daily census for the unit averages between 12-14 patients.
