Provides support to the operating room through the timely,
accurate, and safe processing of instrumentation and equipment used
in the direct care of the surgical patient. Working under the
direct supervision of the Lead Tech - Central Sterile, organizes,
inventories, and distributes instruments, supplies, equipment, and
implants. Does not assume an independent assignment. Participates
in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives in collaboration with
other health team members. Supports an organizational culture for
Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards
to all customer groups. PROVISION OF SERVICES Prepares instruments,
supplies, and equipment from decontamination, assembly,
sterilization, and distribution. Demonstrates both knowledge and
technical expertise regarding sterile processing. Available to
surgery staff for immediate procedure needs for reprocessing of
instruments, equipment, and supplies to facilitate rapid room
turnover. Serves as a resource to surgery staff for instrument,
supply, and equipment needs. Collaborates with Instrument Room
Supervisor and Materials Management Resource Coordinator to obtain
and maintain adequate instrument equipment and supply inventory.
Updates and maintains accurate instrument count sheets. SAFETY -

Sterile processing and distribution certification preferred
